Emma Olivier – Trail Blazer and Disability Advocate: Highlighting the Twenty Percent

Emma Olivier is the founder and CEO of Twenty Percent, a disability Advisory working with Corporate Australia.  She was born with a limb difference – without a left hand – and understands from her own lived experience the challenges and opportunities of having a disability in the corporate world.  She spent over 30 years in consulting, most recently at Accenture in Melbourne.  She is a member of the Risk and Audit Committee of Scope, among other roles.

Howard Fischer was the original founder of Basso Capital hedge fund and the co-founder of the Gratitude Railroad initiative in 2013. He is now the Chairman Emeritus of Basso Capital and “Chief Evangelist” at The Gratitude Railroad. The Gratitude Railroad is an initiative that unites 9 “tracks” or different concepts using capitalism to solve a social or environmental problem.

196. Duncan MacInnes of Ruffer: The art of MiniMax Regret and Portfolio Construction in Today’s Markets

Duncan McInnes is an Investment Director at Ruffer LLP, where he has spent over a decade. He previously worked in wealth management. I have enjoyed listening to Duncan discuss positioning and multi-asset insights on the conference circuit and wanted to take this opportunity to discuss his views on the current macro backdrop as well as the state of play in finance circles as we wrestle with failing banks and what this means for investors.

6. PROFESSOR BRIAN DEVITT – ORTHOPAEDIC SURGEON – MOBILITY, QUALITY OF LIFE, SPORT AND THE IMPORTANCE OF EQ IN MEDICINE

Professor Brian Devitt is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Professor of Orthopaedics and Surgical Biomechanics at Dublin City University.  He studied medicine at University College Dublin and has a particular focus on the knee. He is also my brother and given that he has spent that last 8 years in Melbourne, Australia and we have only seen eachother a handful of times in this period, I am excited to sit down with him and touch base on his medical career and outlook.

2. Miss (Dr.) Samantha Tross – Orthopaedic Surgeon – Bones, Boundaries and Self Belief

Miss (Dr.) Samantha Tross is a consultant orthopaedic hip and knee surgeon, and she was the first black female orthopaedic surgeon in the UK. She is Associate Professor of Orthopaedics at the American University of the Caribbean, a role she has held since 2010, and is Associate Editor of the Journal of Medical Case Reports. She’s a member of the Board of Trustees of the British Association of Black surgeons, and the Secretary of the International Othopaedic Diversity Alliance, which was set up to increase diversity within orthopaedics. She’s been a member of the Black Power List 100 since 2010.
