Trinity College Provost Election 2021 – International Women’s Day Special: Trailer

This special FiftyFaces Focus series showcases the three candidates for the upcoming provost election at Trinity College Dublin, due to be held in April 2021. The Provost is the Chief Officer of the university responsible to the Board and ultimately to the State for the performance of the university. This historic election will see the first female provost in the institutions 429 year history.

Amanda Pullinger- 100 Women in Finance – Elevating and Empowering for the Next Generation

Amanda Pullinger is Chief Executive of 100 Women in Finance, where she leads a staff team and provides direction to 500 volunteer practitioners globally. 100 Women in Finance is focused on empowering women in the finance industry and inspiring the next generation of pre-career young women and has over 20,000 registered members globally. She previously held a series of roles in asset management and is a member of BAFTA and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

As we get ready to celebrate International Women’s Day, we are thrilled to have snatched some time with the legendary Laura Langton of J M Finn, who in January completed the World’s Toughest Row with her team The Ace of Blades.  The team rowed over 3000 miles across the Atlantic in 47 days and their journey was brilliantly captured by their social media team on Linked IN and their Ace of Blades profile page. https://www.linkedin.com/company/team-ace-of-blades/ The team raised over £80,000 for charity.

In part two we explore solutions to the problem, returning to our discussion with Yele Aluko to discuss some of the investments in alleviating inequity in the US medical landscape, and where disparities persist. Adonica Shaw then details the importance of community, shared experience, resources and education – all of which she is amplifying through My Wing Women.

In this part 1 of the series we will explore the problem, through storytelling, on the ground insights and lived experience. We hear from Maneesha Ghiya, the founder of FemHealth Ventures about her own birth experience that prompted a career-long devotion to women’s health issues, as well as Yele Aluko, EY Americas Chief Medical Officer, director of the EY Center for Health Equity, Adonica Shaw, CEO and Founder of My Wing Women, an online community and resource center for women relating to reproductive and other health issues. Maura Rosenfeld, founder of digital health innovator – MindUp, provides her insights on the innovations and technology that can move the needle in alleviating this problem.
