Helena Baker – Networking to Maximum Effect

Helena Baker grew up in London and has a background in journalism and copywriting. Since moving to Israel in 2019 she has founded English Speaking Network, one of Israel’s premier networking group. She describes herself as a Pro Schmoozer and LinkedIn Queen.

In our discussion we talk about the early days of her career, why she was motivated to strike out on her own and what drove her move to Israel. We discuss her experience as a business owner, and whether being a female business owner has presented particular challenges.

Charna Ambers of CB Design NY – Building Brands, Leveraging Contacts, Navigating Change

Charna Ambers is founder of CB Design NY, which specializes in corporate brand and marketing design for clients across a range of industries, including in particular healthcare, lifestyle, and real estate.

Patricia Halper – Engaging with Authenticity

Patricia (Trish) Halper is a member of the Board of Advisors of Ativo Capital, a Chicago-based asset manager. Trish was previously CIO and Partner at Chicago Equity Partners, where she spent 21 years and most recently headed up the quantitative equity investment process.

She is a trustee of the La Rabida Children’s Hospital in Chicago, among other board and volunteer roles. Our conversation covers the experience of women in investing and in financial education, the importance of engagement and authenticity and how to communicate with clients during good and bad times.

Avigail Levine – Amplifying Voices; Restoring Belonging

Avigail Levine is head of marketing and ecosystem relations at Samsung Next TLV in Tel Aviv. She originally studied law, and spent the first years of her career in legal roles, and moved into the tech industry in 2013, where she has held a series of roles including head of portfolio development at a venture capital fund. She is a co-founder and advisor at Restart, whose goal is to help wounded soldiers reintegrate into “real life” after a life changing event. She is also a fellow podcaster at Ma Batafkid, where she broadcasts about non-techie roles in the start-up ecosystem.
