Simon Mackfall of Younion shares his insights from his years in executive search or “headhunting”. He makes some suggestions that job seekers can borrow from the headhunters toolbox – namely developing a strong brief for their own profile.  He talks about how to build goodwill with executive search professionals – sometimes by offering exclusivity and by being focused.  We again come back to the importance of a brief, how it differs from mere CV. 

 

He stresses the importance of doing basic research about organizations, really digging into learning more about the team, their networks and their culture.
