Pride Series 2023: Intersectionality, Authenticity and Progress

June is here, and we are delighted to be back with our annual Pride Series, that this year will be a little bit different.  It will be a bit different because although we are launching it in June, we intend to keep adding to the series all year long – because Pride is for life, not just every June. Amy Lehman of Lake Tanganyika Floating Health Clinic: Power Dynamics in Medicine and a Development Journey

Amy Lehman is Founder and CEO at Lake Tanganyika Floating Health Clinic, an international organization, whose mission is to address the problem of healthcare access for millions of people who live in the isolated, but strategically critical lake, Tanganyika, great lakes region of central Africa. She received both an MD and MBA from the University of Chicago, and trained in general surgery at the University of Chicago Medical Center. Additionally, she was a senior fellow with McLean center for Clinical Medical Ethics. She received the 2014 distinguished young alumni award from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. She has been mentioned by Newsweek as one of “150 Women who Shake the World” and by a number of other publications. 

Charna Ambers of CB Design NY – Building Brands, Leveraging Contacts, Navigating Change

Charna Ambers is founder of CB Design NY, which specializes in corporate brand and marketing design for clients across a range of industries, including in particular healthcare, lifestyle, and real estate. 

Our conversation starts with her upbringing in upstate New York, her first roles and how she came to the decision to launch her own firm. We talk about her vision for branding and design, and how she builds her network. We delve in particular into her LinkedIN strategy, and how she was an early adopter on the platform and has ultimately garnered more than 30,000 followers.

Series 1 2022 – Impact & Legacy

Welcome back to The Fiftyfaces Podcast in 2022. In this first series we meet with ten more inspiring guests and draw out in particular themes relating to impact and the importance of education.  For some of our guests their commitment to educating the next generation – whether through personal sponsorship, Board Roles, teaching decision making or the founding of The Skills Workshop – there is universal belief in its importance.

Impact takes many forms, and includes investment in education, but for some of our guests it also includes solutions to alleviate homelessness, house vulnerable women and adults with learning differences, or address the problem of climate change. 

Toyin Oluwole – Opportunity Knocks on the Journey Home

Toyin Oluwole’s last role was as a Senior Strategy Manager with Royal London. She previously worked in a range of financial and marketing roles at Standard Life and Moody Monday. She recently left Scotland and  returned to her home country of Nigeria, and it was a moving Linked In post that she wrote that led me to her.

Avigail Levine – Amplifying Voices; Restoring Belonging

Avigail Levine is head of marketing and ecosystem relations at Samsung Next TLV in Tel Aviv. She originally studied law, and spent the first years of her career in legal roles, and moved into the tech industry in 2013, where she has held a series of roles including head of portfolio development at a venture capital fund. She is a co-founder and advisor at Restart, whose goal is to help wounded soldiers reintegrate into “real life” after a life changing event. She is also a fellow podcaster at Ma Batafkid, where she broadcasts about non-techie roles in the start-up ecosystem.

Our discussion covers Avigail’s decision to leave law and build a career in tech, even if it meant starting at a lower level on the career ladder, and how she advanced through the area.

Michal Eisikowitz – Results Focused; Community Driven

Michal Eisikowitz is the founder of CopyTribe, a copywriting university that offers multiple courses in different areas of copy + business management to copywriters, designers, and all creative professionals She is also the founder of Michal Eisik Media, which is the micro-agency serving select B2B SaaS + service providers with website copywriting + strategy. She defines copywriting as about saying “I do!” to the perfect marriage of research + storytelling and Michal has a dynamic social media presence where she frequently shares her tips both as a founder and marketing strategist.
