21. Laura J. LaTourette: Financial Planner, Farmer, Llama Lover and Authenticity Champion

Laura LaTourette is a financial planner that describes her practice as one designed to enable LGBTQ+ folx make a plan to simplify their lives to enable them to live authentically and leave a legacy of love. Based on her own 18 acre farm in Dahlonega Georgia,  Laura has been a financial planner for over 20 years and is also a National Resource Center Ambassador for LGBT Elder Issues. 

Elizabeth Kleinerman of Wellington Management – Networks and Progress in Financial Services

Elizabeth (Liz) Kleinerman is a Fixed Income Portfolio Manager at Wellington Management, based in Boston.  She has worked at Wellington for her entire career, and is Chair of the Advisory Board of the Wellington Foundation as well as a Founder of the firm’s Pride+ Network and a leader of its diversity and inclusion efforts.  She lives with her wife and two sons in the Boston area.

Dr. Ylva Baeckstrom – Fusing Skillsets and Authenticity to Eliminate Imposter Syndrome

Dr. Ylva Baeckstrom is a lecturer and researcher in finance at King’s College Business School in London, where she has a particular interest in behavioural finance, investment decision making and investment advice, with a special interest in gender and the interplay between advisors and their clients.

A specialist in gender equality and finance shares insights from her Ted talk and how things like press coverage confirm biases and impeded visibility for women and underrepresented groups.

Emma Olivier – Trail Blazer and Disability Advocate: Highlighting the Twenty Percent

Emma Olivier is the founder and CEO of Twenty Percent, a disability Advisory working with Corporate Australia.  She was born with a limb difference – without a left hand – and understands from her own lived experience the challenges and opportunities of having a disability in the corporate world.  She spent over 30 years in consulting, most recently at Accenture in Melbourne.  She is a member of the Risk and Audit Committee of Scope, among other roles.

Ray Tierney – Cybersecurity Expert: On Security, Safe Spaces and Life Hacks

Ray Tierney is a cybersecurity specialist who was formerly a paramedic.  Prior to that she was a Security Forces Security Specialist. We chart her path through school and into a series of professions that were explicitly intolerant towards LGBTQ identities and discuss how she was “outed” initially by a polygraph test, which contained particularly intrusive questions.

Pride Series 2023: Intersectionality, Authenticity and Progress
